I Knew You Were Trouble
/Taylor Swift performs around the world where the fans fight to get tickets and the prices to attend are outrageous – least to me. Her albums sell and set records. She is a blockbuster artist. I swore never to write about her, but now I do. You might ask why?
Taylor has investing wisdom. Yes, she does. She avoided the celebrity endorsement trap. Did she know about the SEC warning in 2017 to celebrities and others using social media that encouraging the public to purchase stocks and other investments like initial coin offerings (cryptocurrency) may be an unlawful act - https://www.thinkadvisor.com/2017/11/02/sec-warns-celebrity-investment-endorsements-could-be-unlawful/?t=aon? Or as the daughter of an investment banker, did she simply question the underlying value of Sam Bankman-Fried's FTX?
Sam Bankman-Fried's FTX offered Taylor Swift a $100 million sponsorship deal. She did her due diligence and asked the question – are these unregistered securities? Unlike Tom Brady and many others, she pulled away from this offer. And was she singing - Taylor Swift - I Knew You Were Trouble
Whatever caused her to avoid the cryptocurrency troubles that Tom Brady, Matt Damien, LeBron James, and Shaq O’Neil are battling against, we may not know. We do know that she is not singing Don’t Blame Me
This is what the other celebrities who joined the cause and chased the hottest thing available are saying – in both public and in court. Although the SEC may disagree. They claim to only be spokespersons and not really giving advice so do not blame me if you lose your money.
We agree with them. You cannot blame them. You have the responsibility to do your own due diligence. You should know what you are investing in. You should never rely on what someone else thinks. No one knows the future, and no one can predict it. You must invest in yourself and have the basic knowledge of everything you do.
When it comes to investing, we take the stand that you do as Taylor Swift rather than Tom Brady. Do not just jump in - Tom Brady Crypto Commercial for FTX Exchange | Cryptocurrency Commercial
Our stand is to provide you with continuous education and opportunities to develop the basic knowledge to understand that two methods of investing exist. You do not have to live in the world of investing prediction syndrome – using a prediction of the future to speculate and gamble with your money (or have someone else do it for you). You can choose to inhibit the world of the empirically proven academic method of investing. An alternative that most people do not know exists.
